Summary:
ODI has received seven Vehicle Owner's Question (VOQ) reporting stop lamp failures in the subject vehicles. The failure mode appears to involve heat-related failure of circuit board-mounted light bulb sockets (one complainant smelled melting plastic from inside her vehicle). Most of the complaints relate to the right stop lamp assembly (although two complaints involve both left and right assemblies). One complainat has experienced three failures of the right-side stop lamp assembly in the 4,000 miles he has owned his vehicle. A preliminary evaluation has been opened to assess the scope of this phenomenon.
